Recently I regained the rights to my first album from all the way back in 1996, so I decided to celebrate with a very limited edition cassette re-issue and digital release, featuring a re-made version of the title track, plus a few previously unheard remixes. The tapes are available exclusively from BLEEP and come with a free download. After the tapes are sold, digital sales will be as normal from all good online music places.

ANALOGUE BOOGIE: Special CD Offer

Last year I licensed some tracks to a library company called Deep East Music. They supply music to the TV and film industry etc, and they press up very small runs of CDs which are exclusively for their clients and not offered for sale.
However, I've made a deal with them to make a small quantity available to DMX Krew fans, here's the deal:

It's a double CD entitled Analogue Boogie / Analogue Lounge. There are 33 tracks and 29 mini-tracks which are 60-second long edits intended for theme tunes etc.

The musical style is quite varied but it's all analogue synth stuff, quite retro and similar to stuff on "Fresh Up" but also there are a couple of electro tunes and a few other styles. It's nearly all instrumental but there are a couple of vocoder jams including "Do It All Nite" from the last DMX Krew single on Fresh Up.

Price is gonna be £12 plus taxes and post & packaging.

EDIT: Tax means VAT in the EC bringing the total up to £14.40. If you're outside the EC you don't have to pay VAT. Please note, previously I thought the tax was UK only but I was wrong. I'm going to confirm this tomorrow with the tax bastards.

I'm not sure what the post & packaging costs are going to be right now but I'll find out and update this post in the next couple of days.

Big shouts to everyone who came to see me at Bloc Weekend. It was good fun as always to play there and great to meet the UR & Model 500 guys, sneak into Salt N Pepa's dressing room, dance hard to Matt Whitehead, Bass Junkie & Dexorcist, and chill out with various friends old and new.

The music poll reveals that you most want to hear Old School Electro, followed closely by Detroit Techno and New Wave/Synth Pop. Then clearly behind but popular were Rave, Chicago House, and Disco/Boogie.

Personally sad to see funk and soul so low down the list and amazed to see European & UK house & techno so far down as well - none of you like Aphex Twin? Luke Slater? Mike Dred? Baby Ford? Shiver?

I've decided to mostly ignore the results on the basis that if you give the people what they want when they want then their brains shrink. If you don't like funk then you just haven't heard enough James Brown records yet! Podcast 17 is almost ready and will contain lots of music you didn't vote for, but after that I'll play load of old electro for y'all.

OK I feel a bit guilty using this blog for advertising but have you heard the new Ceephax Acid Crew album? It's called "United Acid Emirates" and it's the best album I've heard in literally years. Do go and check it out.

I just added some audio to my Myspace player so you can check out the latest two releases on my label Breakin' Records.

BRK57 is a split/collaboration affair with some friends.

The A-side is kind of banging techno made with an 808 and a synth that was free on the front of a magazine with Tokyo tinkerer Yuri Suzuki.
The B-side is more electro-ish techno and acid with Croatian acid squeezer Qwerty.

BRK56 "Computor Shock" by Computor Rockers is up there too, slipped my mind to upload samples at the time of release.

Vinyl of both releases is out now and digital downloads will be available soon.

After the underwhelming response to my radio show, I thought I'd call it a day but Trevor Wilkes got in touch from Bleep Radio and asked if I would do a show for his website. So I did it and he's hosting it for me through his website.

The format is more or less the same as the first one, just me playing records from my youth and talking a little bit in between.

Turbo records asked me to make a podcast of some records I like with talking in between, like a radio programme. I quite enjoyed doing it so I thought I'd share the programme here as well, and if people like it I'll do some more.

The idea isn't to play rare stuff or to show off my amazing music knowledge, just to play some music I like, mostly from my childhood and teenage years, and chat about it a bit.
